Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid
Volvo car maker has unveiled new sedan series with a Plug-in hybrid version of the Volvo V60 at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The V60 Plug-in Hybrid is developed by Volvo and Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall, which is scheduled to enter series production. Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid has “features the very best properties from three different car types in one sports wagon”, including an all-electric driving mode with a range of up to 32 miles (52 km).
Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will feature a unique power train composed from a 2.4 litre 5 cylinder D5 turbo diesel engine producing 215 HP and 400 Nm of torque and an electric rear axle (ERAD) generating 70 HP which is linked to a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery. Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will use a 6-speed automatic transmission, and when it will hit the streets next year, it is expected to return 150 mpg and have CO2 emissions of only 50 gr/km.
